Abhyaas Ka Pitara – A Box Full of Hope

What does a child need to learn? Just a classroom is not enough.
Imagine a child sitting in school without a notebook, a pencil, or even a textbook. Can they truly study? Can they truly dream?

At Skills Shala Foundation, we work with girls and children who are either rescued from child labour or are at high risk due to poverty and unstable homes. For them, education is not just a right — it’s a lifeline.

This is where “Abhyaas Ka Pitara” comes in — our humble but powerful effort to keep their dreams alive through education.

What is Abhyaas Ka Pitara?

• “Abhyaas Ka Pitara” is a year-long educational support kit. Each Pitara contains the complete set of study materials that a child needs for school, based on their class.

  
  

Each Pitara includes:

• All subject textbooks as per class and syllabus

• practical notebooks

• Practice copies and notebooks (Hindi, English, Maths, etc.)

• Stationery: pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners

• Crayons and colour pencils (for younger children)

• Book covers and name stickers

The Reality: A Missing Pen Can Erase a Future

• 1 in 3 children in India drop out due to lack of basic study material

• In low-income families, many children share a single notebook among siblings

• Girls are more likely to be pulled out of school when study expenses rise

• Lack of educational resources is one of the top 3 reasons behind school dropouts in slums and rural areas
